SUNSHINE LAW NOTICE FOR TOWN COUNCIL AND BOARD MEMBERS:
Notice is hereby provided that one or more members of the Town Council and various Town boards may attend and speak at this meeting. Minutes will be kept by the Town.
There are 2 contested seats in the Town’s 2021 election:
Seat 1 – Tony Goudie and Lois Paritsky
Seat 3 – Elizabeth Caswell and David P. Loh
Candidates for these seats along with the uncontested Seat 5 candidate, Gary Smith, will give a 3 minute introduction of themselves and an overview on what they feel is important for the voters to consider.
Candidates for Seats 1 and 3 will each be given 3 minutes to answer the following questions:
1. There have been complaints concerning numerous violations of the town’s rental ordinances. Bearing in mind the constraints around the rental ordinance what are your suggestions for curbing these violations?
2. Increased beach traffic has resulted in congestion and street parking issues in the vicinity of our beach accesses. What are your recommendations to alleviate these issues?
Audience questions will then be asked of candidates for Seats 1 and 3. They will be given 2 minutes to respond. Audience questions shall be submitted at the door before the start of the event (forms will be provided) and are required to be signed by the individual submitting the question. Questions will be directed to the candidates as requested. Candidates will then be given 2 minutes for closing remarks.
At the conclusion of the formal session light refreshments will be served and citizens may introduce themselves to the candidates and ask questions.
Do not forget the election on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Ponce Inlet Community Center 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Citizens for Ponce Inlet will be live streaming the Candidates Forum. You must be a C4PI member to view the live stream.

PONCE INLET ELECTION 2021
Each of the candidates was invited to provide a photo, resume and a position statement. They will be presented in alphabetical order by seat number. In addition, the candidates in contested seats 1 and 3 were given the opportunity to respond to four questions for the newsletter as follows:
1. What do you feel are the three most critical issues facing the town and why?
2. When you hear something that concerns you in town, what steps would you take to see that this concern is resolved?
3. What are your views on the town’s Visioning Statement?
4. How do you plan to involve residents in the decision-making process in our town?
