The C4Pi Welcomes our new Police Chief, Jeffrey Glazier

The Citizens For Ponce Inlet would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Chief of Police, Jeffrey Glazier.
Chief Jeff Glazier is a 27-year veteran of the Atlanta Police Department, where he rose to the rank of Assistant Chief of Police. He commanded the Support Services Division where he oversaw APD’s $205 million operating budget. He was responsible for the personnel, background and recruitment training academy, the crime lab, fleet and central records. He oversaw an E911 communications center that handles over 1 million annual calls for service.
Chief Jeff Glazier commanded the Field Operations Division from 2016 to 2020. He was responsible for the 950 men and women who patrolled the city streets and responded to 911 calls from the six police precincts. He was a respected mentor and results driven commander who has extensive knowledge of crime fighting strategies and deployed resources to combat local and national crime trends. The City of Atlanta saw overall crime reductions each year he led that Division.
He served three years as Commander of the Zone 3 Precinct in South Atlanta and held the position of Director of the Herbert T. Jenkins Atlanta Police Academy where he was responsible for the training needs of the 2,400 sworn and civilian men and women of the Atlanta Police Department.
Chief Glazier holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta, the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police, the DEA Drug Unit Commander’s Academy, and the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar. In 2013, Chief Glazier traveled to Israel as part of the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange Program to share leadership ideas with Israeli Police Commanders.
Chief Glazier is a Georgia P.O.S.T. certified instructor, certified Field Training officer, and has held the rank of patrolman, detective, sergeant, lieutenant and major. He worked every day with business leaders and neighborhood residents to build a safer Atlanta and now we welcome him here to share his many talents with our small community.
Chief Glazier has many longtime family ties to our area, including owning a vacation home for the past five years in Ormond Beach and being personally familiar with Ponce Inlet’s many fishing, dining and historic attractions. He actually had is wedding reception at Inlet Harbor (now Off the Hook.)
