Gary Smith has served as Mayor continuously since 2011 and has led the Town in defending against the Pacetta lawsuit. During his tenure the Town Council brought about many improvements to make the town a safer and friendlier place to live.

Prior to becoming Mayor, he was a member of the Planning Commission, the Banking Services Selection Committee, the Building Permit and Review Committee as well as Chairman of the new Planning Board. He became a Council Member in June 2011 and mayor in November of that year.
